Before becoming a general contractor Vern J. Vierra started out in a steel fabrication shop while attending college. Over a seven year period he worked his way up to Building Division Manager for Republic Construction. They built large projects including the 265' clear span hanger for Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield, California. Other duties for Republic were using his architectural and engineering talents. They became one of the first Design Build companies to accommodate customer requirements.
In 1972 Vierra obtained his general construction license, Vern J. Vierra Company. With his experience he continued with commercial construction. He has completed over 1,500 building projects in 36 years in business. The following is a description of some of the projects:

Some of the most recent completed projects:
- Thunderhill Park
- 4-story race control building, restaurant, 150' span walk bridge, garages, offices and shade canopies - $3.2 million.
- St. Joachim's Church Hall
- 15,000 sq fot assembly including full kitchen, classrooms, restrooms and office - $1.5 million
- Manufacturing
- 30,000 sq ft manufacturing/office facilirty - $3.7 million
- Fire station
- Fire station - $5.3 million
- Retail
- 45,000 sq ft retail store - $6.4 million
